Pediatric ICU nurses are tasked with caring for patients from newborns to those in their late teens. Although newborns often go to the NICU, those who are readmitted to the hospital after being sent home may go to the pediatric ICU, depending on the facility. From children with breathing problems to those who are septic, pediatric ICU nurses must know how to treat and care for a wide variety of conditions.
